Store Coins Silver

The Vienna Philharmonic

The Silver Vienna Philharmonic, colloquially known as the 'Philly' is undoubtedly one of the world's most popular coins for investors. A regular in annual top five lists, the bestselling coin takes its name from the equally famous Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The reverse and obverse designs by Thomas Pesendorfer pay homage to the prestigious institution; the reverse features a selection of orchestral instruments while the obverse features the pipe organ from the Musikverein in Vienna.

Issued by the Austrian Mint, these impressive coins made their debut in 2008 and are struck from one troy ounce of .999 pure silver. Like most European bullion coins, Vienna Silver Philharmonics are legal tender. However, as silver continues to perform well on international markets, the coin's face value of 1.50 Euros is far less than its true value.
