South African Krugerrand
The Krugerrand Gold coin is one of the first investment bullion coins ever released by a government. First introduced in 1967, its international popularity prompted other mints to release bullion coins of their own such as the Maple Leaf (1979) and the Australian Nugget (1981). Now available in silver as well, the coin features a portrait image of President Paul Kruger (1983-1900) designed by Otto Schultz on its obverse and the native Springbok antelope on its reverse. The coin’s name originates between a mix of Paul Kruger and the Rand, which is the local South African Currency.
The 2020 Krugerrand silver coin is regarded as one of the most beautiful and symbolic coin designs. Investors and collectors can instantly recognize this piece due to its historical meaning amongst bullion coins. The Krugerrand silver coin contains 1 troy ounce of pure 999/1000 silver, has a face value of 1 rand and can be used as legal tender.
Canadian Maple Leaf
The Maple Leaf is an internationally recognised symbol of Canada. Over the years it has come to symbolise unity, tolerance, peace, strength and endurance. It started being featured in 1965 on the modern Canadian flag and gained traction internationally as a keystone symbol for the country. The maple leaf and mostly the maple tree’s significance roots back to pre-colonial times when Canada’s indigenous people used it as an important food source. Its historical meaning and strong symbolism now stand for important values the Canadian people aim to represent.
The 2020 Canadian Maple Leaf silver coin is regarded as one of the most beautiful and symbolic coin designs. Investors and collectors can instantly recognise this piece due to its unique feature of the well known Canadian Maple Leaf which is also featured on the countries flag.
The coin contains 1 troy ounce of pure silver. The obverse features a profile image of Queen Elizabeth II and the coins face value of 5 CAD. This coin represents an excellent gift option or purchase for investors and collectors alike.
Australian kangaroo
The Perth Mint are known for producing beautiful bullion coins and this is no exception. The coin features a red Kangaroo - the same as the Gold Nugget - and contains the Perth Mint mark of 'P' on the reverse.
The obverse side bears Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II - the fourth such portrait of the Queen used for coins. The image shows Her Majesty wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, as well as Queen Mary button stud pearl earrings.
Royal Mint issued coins used this image between 1998 and 2014, but it is still a popular choice across the Commonwealth nations. It is also the largest of the five portraits of Elizabeth II to have been minted.
American Gold Eagle
The One Ounce Silver Eagle is the official Bullion coin of the United States and has a face value of $1. Silver Eagle coins were first released in 1986 and are now produced at one of the US Mint’s two plants in either San Francisco or West Point, New York.
On the front of the coin is the Lady Liberty design by Adolph Alexander Weinman, an American sculptor. Here the lady is wearing an American flag while the sun rises behind her, with the word LIBERTY emblazoned along the top of the coin. Behind her leg is the phrase ‘In God We Trust’ and at the base of the coin is the year’s date – 2020.
The reverse of the coin is the classic US herald design of the Eagle and the Shield, as created by John Mercanti. It features 13 stars, which represent the original colonies of America, and features the traditional latin ‘E Pluribus Unum’ which means ‘Out of Many, One’.
The Vienna Philharmonic
The Silver Vienna Philharmonic, colloquially known as the 'Philly' is undoubtedly one of the world's most popular coins for investors. A regular in annual top five lists, the bestselling coin takes its name from the equally famous Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The reverse and obverse designs by Thomas Pesendorfer pay homage to the prestigious institution; the reverse features a selection of orchestral instruments while the obverse features the pipe organ from the Musikverein in Vienna.
Issued by the Austrian Mint, these impressive coins made their debut in 2008 and are struck from one troy ounce of .999 pure silver. Like most European bullion coins, Vienna Silver Philharmonics are legal tender. However, as silver continues to perform well on international markets, the coin's face value of 1.50 Euros is far less than its true value.
Silver Britannia One Ounce
This 2020 Britannia £2 silver coin, is a legal tender coin in the UK, and is therefore Capital Gains Tax Free (CGT Exempt).
A long tradition continues by using the Great British national symbol Britannia. Britannia's first appearance on British coinage was on the farthing in 1672. The current Britannia celebrates 63 years of Queen Elizabeth II's reign and features a new engraving by Jody Clark.
The edge of the coin states its value, as well as the abbreviated latin D G REG F D which, expanded, says Dei Gratia Regina Fidei Defensatrix. The direct English translation is 'By the grace of God, Queen' and 'Defender of the Faith' - the latter part being a reference to Elizabeth II's status as head of the Church of England.
